What is the Code 39 Error - How to Fix this error?

Error code 39 will show on all versions of Windows and is caused by the absence or corruption of a driver on your PC. Drivers are pieces of software which allow Operating Systems to communicate with the hardware on your computer, and are used extensively to help Windows run as smoothly as possible with whatever hardware you have. Unfortunately, it's often the case that your PC will not have the correct drivers installed - which will lead it to either run slowly or with errors like the 39 error.

This error will typically show in this format:

"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)"
The most common reason for the 39 error to show is because the CD / DVD drivers for your PC are not installed correctly. This will mean that each time you use your computer, and your PC wants to read the CD / DVD drive, it will be unable to process it, as it will not have the driver installed to handle it. To ensure this is not a problem, you should load up the "Device Manager" of your PC (click Start > Control Panel > Device Manager) and then look through the various pieces of hardware that are on your computer. If any of them have a small yellow exclamation mark by them, then you will need to get Windows to update the driver, or install a fresh version of it.

After you've updated any corrupt / damaged drivers on your PC, you will then need to use a "registry" cleaner to fix any potential issues that are inside the registry of your PC. The registry is a large database that Windows uses to help it keep the various settings that are on your system. Everything from your desktop wallpaper to your most recent emails are kept inside the registry, allowing Windows to run as smoothly as possible when it tries to read the files it needs from it.

However, it's also where a lot of your software & drivers keep settings, and will be a big cause of the 39 error if the settings for your drivers are not stored correctly inside it. To resolve this problem, you should download & scan your PC with a registry cleaner program to ensure no damaged registry settings are causing problems for your PC.
